Beulah Fire Department was formed in 1975 after the tragic loss of several young children in a house fire. Over the years we have transitioned from a Volunteer Fire Department to a Combination Fire Department that utilizes Career Firefighters and Volunteer Firefighters. We provide fire suppression and first responder services to the citizens of our community. While we do have a total of five fire stations, two of the stations are staffed. Station 1, located down the road from Beulah High School, is staffed 24/7 with Firefighters. Our station 2 is staffed by part-time Firefighters. The remaining station's house apparatus and equipment, including our fire boat located at our boat house station on Lake Harding.
Beulah Fire Department works under the umbrella of the Beulah Utilities District. Beulah Utilities District provides fire and water services to the citizens of Beulah. The District is governed by five Board Members who are residents of the community. Beulah Fire Department is funded by a $17.00 monthly charged attached to the customers water bill.
In 2018 "Formed To Serve" was adopted as the motto of Beulah Fire Department. The origin is from a newspaper article from the late 1970s titled "Beulah FD. Formed To Serve. Time To Grow" Firefighters use this motto to remember why we do the things that we do for our community.
